Variations and substitutions
- Frozen Brussels sprouts. I've seen some air-fryer recipes that use frozen instead of fresh. I've never tried this method, but give it a go! You'll probably have to cook them longer than fresh.
- Oils. I used olive oil in this recipe, but you can certainly use avocado, vegetable, or canola oil.
- Other spicy sauces. If you're not a fan of Gochujang, try using Sriracha sauce, sweet chili sauce, or even sambal oelek for a different flavor profile.
- Other sweetners. Swap out the honey for maple syrup for a slightly different sweet flavor.
- Other vegetables. You might want to make this recipe with other vegetables too! Try it with cauliflower, carrots, sweet potatoes, or parsnips.
There are just four ingredients in this sweet and savory Korean Gochujang sauce. You can always make this sauce in advance.
