Why are beets so good for you?
Beets have many helpful plant compounds that reduce inflammation and protect cells from damage. Some of the other health benefits of beetroot include:
- Increases Stamina -- Beetroot and its juice help your heart and lungs work better during exercise.
- Helps Prevent Heart Disease and Stroke -- Beets are rich in folate (vitamin B9) which helps cells grow and function. Folate plays a key role in controlling damage to blood vessels.
- Lowers Blood Pressure -- Beets are naturally high in nitrates, which are turned into nitric oxide in the body.
- Boosts Your Immune System -- Beets are high in fiber and promote the growth of good bacteria in your gut.

Tips & Tricks
- Make sure when you cut the beets into strips they are somewhat similar in size so they bake up evenly. You don't want over-burnt fries, am I right?
- Leave space on the baking sheet. They should not be overcrowded. Use two baking sheets if necessary!
- Preheat your baking sheet. They will come out much crispier this way. (Little know fact!)
- Toss them halfway into baking. Then the fries will get nice and brown on both sides!
- These fries are baked and made from beets so they are not going to be as crispy as regular fries. But you can deep-fry them for extra crisp if you want!
- Try air frying these beet fries. I think they would turn out just as crispy!
- You can freeze the fries and reheat in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
